The brief:
Scan an existing classic Jaguar C-Type and subtly manipulate the subsequent data to create a unique interpretation of the Jaguar C-Type design.
Once the design had been agreed, design and manufacture a buck - a tool used to create aluminium car bodies - and commission this at the clients chosen body manufacturers.
The buck was specifically designed to break down into three distinct modules - so that storage and work space could be saved and the body produced in sections if required.
Information utilised:
The scanned data obtained from the subject vehicle and historical records and photographs of Jaguar C-Types.

- Scan vehicle.

- Manipulated the scan data to create a design that met the clients unique requirements.
Manipulating scan data to create usable information
- Design a buck. As usual, we took time to speak to the metal workers that would be using the buck to ensure it met their requirements. This is a useful process that means we are able to add features specifically designed to suit particular methods of working.
The client specifically wanted the buck to split into three parts to save space.

was manufactured, to ensure the design was to the clients requirements
- Created an instruction manual and animated video, as this was our most complex buck to date consisting of almost 200 parts.

- Liaised with a CNC cutting firm to get the buck manufactured and then delivered and commissioned the buck at the car body manufacturers.

- The whole process took 5 working weeks.

At the time of writing, Legends Classics, the firm that commissioned us, are busy promoting the superb C-Type replica they have created.
